Ms. Lori is an oil painter by day and an art teacher by night in San Jose, CA

Hi I’m Lori, and I love to paint the pets, people, and moments that you cherish the most!

I earned my BFA at Lyme Academy of Fine Arts where I focused on oil painting. After, I moved to California in the Bay Area to teach other young aspiring artists painting and drawing! My first pet portrait was made right after my own pup died after 11 years of love and loyalty. I was so heartbroken that I went to the canvas and painted my first ever commemorative pet portrait. Since then, I have painted hundreds of pet portraits for people who are either grieving, or people who just adore their pet so much, they want a painting of their little buddy!

In addition to pets, I paint portraits of people and flowers, and when I’m not painting, I’m an art teacher in the Bay Area. “Ms. Lori: Kid tested, mother approved!“ I have 13 years of experience teaching in studio settings, giving kids and teens training with painting and drawing. My hope for each student is that they can successfully create whatever it is that they have in their mind, and put it out into the world!

Meet my pup, Kvinna the Formosan Mountain Dog!

Kvinna, (pronounced kv.VEE.naa) is Swedish for Woman, and that's EXACTLY what she is: a ‘Liten Kvinna’, Little Woman. For a rescue that lived on the streets of Taiwan, she has the most ladylike manners, and sweet temperament! She absolutely loves strangers, and affection from anyone who will give her. She is Ms. Lori’s little studio mate, and Ms.Lori couldn't feel more lucky to have her!
