My dog Kvinna might ask your artist for attention! But if you are not fond of dogs, she is happy to stay outside and watch the squirrels.
Testimonial:
My daughter has loved drawing and creating with her hands even before she knew how to hold a pencil. We had tried a number of art classes and art tutors when she was younger but none of them seemed to be a good fit until we found Lori 4 years ago. I am so grateful to Lori who has taught my daughter the skill and understanding in art with the perfect balance of encouragement and motivation to get to where she is now. Lori has been one of the greatest gifts for our daughter.

FAQs
Cancellation Policy, Makeup Policy
Can’t make a lesson? You make choose to skip a lesson at ant time! The payment for the skipped lessons can be applied to the next lesson, or, you can join a different time slot if it works out for your schedule. There are no time limitations on projects; everything is self paced, so no worries If your schedule is too tight to fit a lesson in. Absolutely can not fit in a makeup? I can refund you; life get’s busy!
Should I bring my own materials? Or do you have them?
Some artists LOVE having their own materials. I have made a list of suggested materials if they want to bring their own supplies (in the payment section of this page). I will provide materials if need be; but when it comes to certain materials, like oil paint and canvas, I recommend students purchase their own materials as those items have a different rate of usage depending on the student, and sharing those materials is not a guarantee that the student will get the amount they need when shared (ie. one student used up all the blue pant for an ocean painting etc.)
What are the benefits of private/small group lessons?
In small groups/ private lessons, students get to learn in a way that is tailored to their individual learning style/ art style. Some artists are fast, some are slow; some artists are detailed, some artists are not; but each artist can reach their full potential better when they are learning in a way that meets their needs, rather than a generalized version that tries to be a one-size-fits-all situation. Also, with private lessons, students get to try out more challenging things that a bigger class cannot facilitate due to sheer size of the class room, and the stretched thin teachers attention. In other words, students get more one on one attention with a smaller class!
Is there homework?
That depends on your schedule and goals! Some artists simply do not have time in their busy schedules to complete homework, and do! If you are fortunate enough to practice, keep a sketch book and put a timer on for 15-30 minutes (or more!) and practice any subject or art skill you are working on in class at home.
Do you help with college admissions?
Teens who are getting ready for colleges can work on their portfolio with me, and I can guide them on how to make presentable, well photographed images to share with colleges, or for applying for scholarships.
